Volkswagen Tiguan

Its external appeal captures the lines and detailing of Volkswagen’s signature design. Up against the Kuga, it falls into a similar ballpark. However, Ford’s prominent grille and striking headlights give it that edge.

Renault Kadjar
Renault has upped their SUV credentials with the introduction of the Kadjar. The car maker describes the model as an adventurous and athletic design and its styling certainly backs this up.
The exterior showcases a new front grille with a large logo accent and the LED lighting and prominent alloy wheels also make a statement on the road. Its shape feels similar to the Kuga, but the Ford has an edgier look overall.
Taking a seat in the cabin is slightly underwhelming compared to rival SUVs. However, the infotainment display is quite impressive, although, the Kuga slightly outdoes it for useability and style.
Performance comparison
Another similarity with the Kuga is the option to choose between petrol and diesel models. The base-level petrol model is a good option for everyday driving. However, the diesel model will give you more miles to the gallon.
The Kadjar isn’t going to be breaking any speed records. Still, it travels 0-60mph in just over 10 seconds, comparable to the Kuga.

Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
The Toyota RAV4 was a popular small SUV that came onto the market back in the 90s. Still going strong today, Toyota has upped the ante with a plug-in hybrid version to go against similar models in its class.
The exterior gives us an angular look with a large and striking front grille. It’s also available in a variety of classic colours in solid or bi-tone finishes. Inside, it doesn’t quite match the presence the exterior gives, but the crisp lines and shiny accents give it a stylish vibe.

This plug-in hybrid model provides an impressive 50.4mpg. Plus, you have access to the electric motor, which gives you around 46 miles of range. This is more than the Kuga and means you can drive a little longer on electric-only, saving you money on fuel.

Skoda Karoq
