In our survey, results showed a significant increase in UK motorists' interest in electric vehicles (EVs) over traditional petrol/diesel cars.
The survey results reflect a positive shift towards sustainable travel, driven by a combination of factors contributing to the growing appeal of EVs among British drivers.
A staggering 78% of respondents cited environmental considerations and growing concerns about climate change as primary motivators for considering electric vehicles. With heightened awareness of the environmental impact of fossil fuel-powered vehicles, UK motorists are increasingly embracing EVs as a cleaner and greener alternative to reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a sustainable future.
The survey revealed that 65% of respondents are drawn to the technological advancements and innovation in electric vehicle technology. From improved battery range and performance to enhanced charging infrastructure, EVs are becoming increasingly attractive options for motorists seeking cutting-edge technology and superior driving experiences.
Kia is one of the manufacturers leading the way with technology innovation – something that was recently reinforced with its two industry awards at the CES Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year.
“Kia has been one of the most influential companies in terms of the transition to EVs. The PBV Concept shows it’s ready to also take a fresh step into a futuristic vision of what vehicles can be,” commented Digital Trends.
Technological advancements have significantly reshaped the landscape of the automotive industry, with a particular emphasis on innovation in electric vehicles (EVs), autonomous driving features, and connectivity solutions. Brands like Kia and Hyundai have emerged as frontrunners in leveraging technology to enhance the driving experience and meet evolving consumer demands.
Both companies have made substantial investments in EV technology, offering a diverse range of electric vehicles with extended ranges and advanced battery systems. Additionally, Kia and Hyundai have pioneered the integration of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving features, enhancing safety and convenience for drivers. Furthermore, these brands have prioritized connectivity by integrating cutting-edge infotainment systems and smart vehicle management platforms into their vehicles, providing drivers with seamless access to information, entertainment, and navigation services.
This dominance is certainly reflected in our own data, with the Kia e-Niro Estate one of our best selling EV with many customers commenting on the impressive tech available.
Another significant advancement in EVs is the improvement in range. Gone are the days of range anxiety, as modern EVs can now travel farther than ever before on a single charge. Manufacturers like Polestar, BMW, Kia and Hyundai have been at the forefront of this innovation, offering EVs with impressive ranges that rival traditional petrol or diesel vehicles. With each new model release, we witness remarkable advancements in battery technology, resulting in longer ranges and quicker charging times, making EVs a practical and convenient choice for everyday driving.
A significant shift in societal perceptions towards electric vehicles was evident in the survey findings, with 46% of respondents influenced by the growing popularity and positive endorsements of EVs from friends, family, and influencers.
